Bust of the rider Rampin in patinated plaster in imitation of bronze on base 40 cm

Head in patinated plaster in imitation of bronze on a plaster base also depicting the rampin rider, after an original marble work dated around 550 bc, discovered in 1877 on the acropolis of athens. The identity of the character is unknown. He is most certainly a member of the athenian aristocracy. This sculpture owes its name to georges rampin who bequeathed it to the louvre museum. The torso and fragments of the horse are kept in the acropolis museum. The sculpture is 40 cm high, including the base. In very good condition with some traces of wear. See detailed photos.
