Rosewood Sideboard by Kurt Gunther & Horst Brechtmann for Fristho 1961

Superb rosewood sideboard designed by kurt gunther and horst brechtmann in 1961 for fristho. This model, vdj-245, is one of the most exclusive sideboards by fristho and rarely offered. It is marked with the original label behind the left door. Beautiful minimalist appearance and very well crafted. It features 4 doors; on the left it has a black glass shelf and behind the middle doors it has a wooden shelf. On the right there used to be drawers but they are missing. It is executed in rosewood and it has a chromed steel frame. On the front of the top it has an aluminum strip and the doors have perfectly fitting aluminum handles. It is marked inside with the original fristho label. Featured in the book 'fristho - vooruitstevende meubelen (progressive furniture)' by bert looper on page 63. The sideboard is in good condition. On the top it has a tiny lacquer damage which is not perfectly restored and 2 slight circles on the top (see photos). Further more the sideboard is looking great.
