This iconic chestnut armchair, known as "corbusier", manufactured according to the centuries-old tradition of limousin straps. "double" for its "double" armrests: wider, more comfortable. This sublime armchair is accompanied by a cowhide cushion. Nb: if it is an ideal garden chair, its wood is not treated and can therefore patina and gray if left prey to the weather. Originally, taking advantage of the surrounding vineyards and oyster ponds, the limousin "feuillardiers" harvested chestnut coppice perches to make vine stakes, barrel strapping or shellfish baskets... One of them then had the idea of harvesting the branches to make the frame of a very rustic seat, and dressing it with a braiding of strips of the same tree, according to a traditional basketry technique. The limousin armchair was born, the legend on the march. For 5 generations among these strappers, chestnut furniture has been designed from father to son according to regional tradition. Pascal was the passionate heir and shared with heart his manufacturing secrets, from the steaming of chopsticks to the braiding of strips to give shape to the furniture designed in his workshop. Among them, the iconic "corbusier" armchair, which can be found in any "good house". Today knowledge is transmitted to a new craftsman, outside this family of strap makers from generation to generation.
