Nils thorsson for royal copenhagen aluminia faience glazed baca bowl, in abstract design, circa 1960s. Beautiful pieces of signed and numbered danish top craftsmanship. Nils thorsson (1898-1975) first appeared as an artist when he in 1925 he exhibed a series of vases, ( the autumn series) that were awarded with a gold medal at the world exhibition in paris. From 1930 he became artistic director at the fiancé factory aluminia and from 1949 he had the artistic supervision of the stoneware department at the royal copenhagen porcelain factory. Thorsson´s works are represented at: the museum of fine arts in copenhagen, the royal institute of technology, the porcelain factory museum, the victoria & albert museum in london, the national museum in stockholm and the ceramic museum in faenza.
