Marie berton-maire, born december 28, 1894 in roubaix and died june 7, 1975 in paris is a french painter, sculptor and draftswoman, member of the salon des artistes français. She was a pupil of ferdinand humbert, suzanne minier and pharaoh de winter, a member of the union of women painters and sculptors, and a member of the society of french artists. In 1928 she obtained an honourable mention at the salon des artistes français. In 1929 she exhibited at the salon des humoristes a lost wax bronze: contemplation. In 1930, she participated in the artistic exhibition of the cercle de l'industrie in roubaix with rémy cogghe, paul barian, charles-henry bizard, jean chaleyé and henri pailler, among others. She won the silver medal at the salon des artistes français in 1931. She exhibited in 1934 at the annual opening of the society of french artists with as a work, "the porcelain showcase". She received a mention at the exhibition of women's arts at the grand palais of the international exhibition of northern france in june 1911 and won the gold medal at the salon des artistes français in 1942. In 1944, she participated in the salon des artistes, out of competition with "les pivoines blanches", oil on canvas.
