Description
An unusual piece by the great ceramicist of Vallauris Alexandre Kostanda for this beautiful 35 cm ceramic mirror "Apprentice at Louis Giraud in Vallauris in 1936, he teaches ceramics at Biot. He moved to Cluny, Saône-et-Loire in 1942. At the end of the war, he taught filming and pottery at the Longchamps Faïenceries learning centre in the Côte d'Or1. He will be the teacher of the four founders of accolay's workshops. In 1949, he returned to Vallauris to take over the management of Louis Giraud's studio. Alexandre Kostanda founded his own studio in 1953. He brings sandstone clay from Cluny, which supports higher cooking temperatures, and mixes it with Vallauris soil.
