Black painted linen press wardrobe

This is an unusual compact linen press that dates to the end of the victorian era. It is made of mahogany, veneers and mixed woods and is solid, well made and heavy but modestly sized, making it easy to transport and place in any home. The linen press has double doors to the front which open to reveal four pull out slides set over a deep drawer to the base which is finished with brass campaign style handles. The doors and top plinth have decorative beading and the door has an attractive brass handle which turns to unlock the door. I have hand painted the exterior in my own mix of black paint before distressing the finish for a gently aged look and waXIng the paintwork for protection. The paintwork is solid colour with a smooth low sheen finish. Condition. The wardrobe is in good structural condition, there are various small marks here and there to the wood, a small chip near the bottom of the left hand side panel and some other small marks and little cracks here and there. On the inside of the doors there are some small marks where the slides have knocked the wood over the years and the door handle is a replacement. There are some old filled wood worm holes to the decorative beading on the doors. Measurements. Height- 155cms. Width- 108cms. Depth- 50.5cms.
