Space Age Mantis lounge chair by Gerard Van Den Berg for Montis

This Mantis lounge chair was designed by Gerard van den Berg for Montis, Netherlands. Montis introduced a revolutionary idea for upholstering, known as the Jacket technique. The innovation was on enabling a leather cover to be zipped around a metal frame. The chair is covered entirely with grey leather, and remains in a good condition with some patina on the seat. This vintage item remains fully functional, but it shows sign of age through scuffs, dings, faded finishes, minimal upholstery defects, or visible repairs. Patina consistent with age and use
