Pair of Louis XVI torches in gilded bronze

Period: ca. Late 18th – early 19th century. A pair of gilded bronze torches of high quality and in excellent condition. The fluted, rudentate column-shaped stems stand on round feet with a detailed frieze of palm leaves on the edge and a pearl frieze. A small laurel wreath surrounds the base of the stem. The duo of palm leaf friezes and pearl friezes are repeated at the top of the stem and at the bottom of the binet. The candlesticks are entirely in the style of louis XVI towards the first empire of napoleon (so late 18th to early 19th century). Status: very good. Dimensions: 19 cm high, 11 cm foot diameter, 367 & 380 g.
