With Pastoe, Artifort, Gispen and ' Spectrum, the furniture manufacturer Fristho t is one of the most important of the early 1950s and 1960 Dutch furniture manufacturers. The company was founded in 1921 under the name of Friesche Stoel-en Houtwarenfabriek (Friesian flesh and Wood Factory) and is commonly called by the diminutive Fristho in the city of Franeker. Although the founder of the plant remains unknown, it has been established, in its infancy, the factory produced some wooden chairs for the internal market.
