Pulcina coffee maker for Alessi by Michele de Lucchi

Pulcina espresso machine designed by Michele de Lucchi (born in 1951) in 2015 for Alessi in collaboration with Illy. The shape of the machine is inspired by the body of a "pulcina" (Italian for "chick"). The Pulcina espresso machine is made of aluminum, which serves as an excellent heat conductor and gives a distinctive flavor to the espresso prepared in a Pulcina thanks to the seasoning of the inner walls of the pot with a thin film of coffee. Coffee prepared with a Pulcina has a fuller, rounder flavor than that prepared with a stainless steel pot. The wonderful layered effect on the exterior is the result of the alternating wall thicknesses to facilitate heating and cooling. The resulting coffee is very good. Guaranteed by Alessi and Illy.
