Lobi XXL ethnic vase

Superb piece of Burkina Faso origin in terracotta and crushed walnuts. Terracotta vases are characteristic of the Burkina Faso region. The reliefs of some of them generally indicate their origin in the Lobi ethnic group, an ethnic group which lives in the regions of Gaoua and Diebougou in Burkina Faso. Revered as sacred water vessels, African lobi vessels were used in temples and homes across Africa throughout the 20th century. Diameter 38 cm X height 60 cm. Has some chips which are part of the imperfections of a handcrafted piece.
