Beautiful rug from the brand gabbeh made of wool and beautifully woven. Gabbeh carpets are traditional tribal carpets, knotted by the quashqai people of the zagros mountains in western iran. The word gabbeh comes from farsi and can be translated as rough, uncut or unfinished, which is very appropriate as gabbeh carpets have a rough and primitive appearance. Persian gabbeh carpets were mainly intended for personal use and were not influenced by commercial demand, as was the case with many other persian carpets. As a result, the carpets are still a combination of the weaver's craftsmanship and artistic expression. Very typical are simple designs inspired by nature, with images of everyday nomad life in beautiful color combinations, as well as the plain monochrome ton sur ton carpets without figurative elements or with very small details. Persian gabbeh carpets are usually woven at home by nomads or semi-nomadic people using hand-spun persian wool and natural dyes. They are characterized by their thick wool pile of up to 2.5 cm or more, which makes them very comfortable to walk on. Gabbeh rugs give your home a cozy feel and are also a great way to absorb sound in a larger room.
