Rare and magnificent brutalist-style lighting set, created by the famous French wrought iron artist Max Bré. This high-end lot includes a large 6-arm ceiling chandelier (6 lights) as well as its superb matching pair of double wall sconces (2 lights per sconce, totalling 4 wall light points). The set is a true work of craftsmanship from the 1960s/1970s. Authenticity is guaranteed by the original stamp "BRE" "MAX" stamped directly into the wrought iron (see photos). Materials & Quality of Craftsmanship: Designer / Artisan: Max Bré (stamped pieces). Noble materials: Heavy and solid structure in patinated black wrought iron. The cups and candle holders are entirely made of raw solid bronze. The bronze features a beautiful granular and sculptural texture, typical of the art foundry of the time.
