Mythical bull footstool by Dimitri Omersa (1927-1985), 1960s

The artist, Dimitri Omersa (1927-1985) The story goes that the first leather pig appeared almost by accident when "Old Bill", who worked making hand luggage for the Liberty department store in London, s The question was what could be done with the leftover leather. He had the idea of a pig-shaped footstool which he offered to Liberty for resale. Dimitri Omersa and his wife Inge arrived in England in 1955 and settled in Lavender Croft, a sanctuary for refugees. Dimitri Omersa found work in the leather trade and, while representing a small leather company in Hitchin, met "Old Bill" at Liberty. It was brought by Laurent de Sucy en Brie (94) who had found it with his partner in an association. Era. 1960s. Condition.
