Console from the Restoration period, Charles X style in walnut with griotte marble.

Superb console made in France from solid walnut and walnut veneer, typical of the Charles X style. On the front, there is a large drawer in the belt, dovetail mounted, with a compartmentalised interior in light wood. The front legs in "S" shape offer a beautiful relief, resting on a concave plinth (knee hole) characteristic of the period. The original red "Griotte" marble, 3 cm thick, is rectangular in shape. The lock is functional with a key and a diamond-shaped keyhole. The whole piece is in very good solid condition. There are normal signs of use for a piece of furniture nearly 200 years old: old signs of woodworm (treated) and discreet scratches on the marble that attest to its authenticity.
