Restoration period console in mahogany – Marble top – 19th century. Elegant Restoration period console made of mahogany, featuring a beautiful architecture characteristic of the first third of the 19th century. The front is rhythmically structured by two strongly curved console-style front supports, ending in sculpted motifs resembling paws, while two straight supports structure the back. The entire piece rests on a significant curved plinth, enhanced by ball feet at the front. The frieze showcases a very fine mahogany arranged in symmetrical foliage, particularly highlighting the shades and grain of the wood. The console is topped with a thick grey-black veined and fossiliferous marble top, with a moulded edge. An additional lower stretcher shelf harmoniously completes the ensemble. This decorative piece has balanced proportions, making it suitable for both an entrance and a living room. Period: Restoration, first half of the 19th century. Visible signs of use as shown in the photographs: some marks, scratches, and minor accidents related to age, particularly on the shelf and wood. The marble also shows signs of wear.
