French console from the Restoration period, 19th century, circa 1820–1840. Made of fruitwood, probably cherry, it is topped with an elegant dark natural marble surface. The console is distinguished by its curved front supports ending in claw-shaped sculpted feet, a motif directly inspired by the decorative vocabulary of the Empire and Antiquity. A large drawer is discreetly integrated into the frieze, maintaining a sober and balanced façade. This type of console was traditionally placed against a wall, often under a large mirror, in a living room, hallway, or reception room. The contrast between the warm tones of the wood and the dark marble gives it a particularly elegant and decorative presence. The console has undergone careful cleaning and nourishing treatment of the wood, while retaining its natural patina and authentic signs of age. Dimensions: H 88 × W 100 × D 52 cm.
