Designer: Arne Jacobsen, for more than half of the 20th century, The Ideas of Arne Jacobsen shaped the Danish design landscape, spreading from Scandinavia to influence architects and designers around the world. He has managed to lead projects ranging from complex buildings like the Danmarks NationalBank to detailed challenges as humble as a special teaspoon for his cutlery set, working with a relatively small studio staff pushed by a inextinguishable need to create. Jacobsen's creative process centred on his strict consideration of detail. He brought his visions to life for customers and builders with scrupulous hand-painted watercolours. In any given year, Jacobsen was able to design what others might be happy to produce in five years. Ant No. 3100 : The hull is steamed into a single piece consisting of 9 layers of veneer. These layers are always lined with Indian cotton inside. The base is chrome-height steel (43 cm). Supplements: The ant is stackable - up to 12 pieces. Originally created for the canteen of the Danish company Novo Nordisk, the Ant ™ was presented on Fritz Hansen's 80th birthday and the press and critics instantly fell in love with visionary design. Fritz Hansen, on the other hand, was at first more skeptical about the production of the chair: the minimalist design of the three-foot chair made it too difficult to sit because it bowed easily. But Arne Jacobsen believed so strongly in his design that he promised to buy every chair that wasn't sold. This convinced the company to put the chair into production and has been since then. The laminated wooden chair with a metal base proved to be an important step for Fritz Hansen and Arne Jacobsen. Special dimensions: Seat width: 40.5 cm Depth of seating: 38 cm Seating height: 43.5 cm Designer: Arne Jacobsen Publisher: Fritz hansen Materials: Plating with Indian cotton, chrome steel
