Altar Cabinet - China Around 1930

Chinese cabinet in lashed and carved wood in the early 20th century. Many hand-painted polychrome motifs: animated landscapes, dragons, characters, fish, plants, decorate this atypical and masterful asian furniture. It consists of two parts: A chest opening by two fronts, topped by a border adorned with four dogs of cared and gilded wood. The inside of this chest is fully lasted in red. A high part composed of five panels decorated with carved and gilded wooden dragons, solidarized by hinges like a screen. The largest of the panels fits into the trunk. Good general condition, presence of shocks on the wood, lack of hairs ( see photos). This piece of furniture of extraordinary dimensions deserves a restoration in order to restore its original brilliance.
