Handmade french edwardian metamorphic wooden highchair. Metamorphic' was the original term used to describe such items of nursery furniture since it transforms from a high chair to a child's walking aid plus play desk in just one smooth and simple manoeuvre - a remarkable feat of engineering carpentry at the time. Over one hundred years on this still transforms smoothly and with ease. The back of the chair is decorated with a picture of a dog pulling a table cloth of a table chasing a cat and the table top is decorated with 3 dogs. The decoration on the chain seat is worn and cannot make out picture.the chair is in antique condition with marks, bumps and bruises reminiscent with age. The table top as been replaces at some point in its long life and there is a screw missing on one of the front hinges.
