Morse-rummel (frank) painter and wood engraver, born to english parents in berlin on august 31, 1884. Son of the pianist f. Rummel, his maternal grandfather was s. F. B. Morse, the inventor of the telegraph, painter and president of the new york drawing academy. Morse-rummel first studied at the royal academy of fine arts, he received lessons from l. Corinth before coming to paris to enrol at the academy. Julian. G. Adam writes that he is subjected to the influences of puvis de chavannes, 15th-century italians, primitives and even the chinese. The artist traveled from the basque country to norway. The best of his work is in large decorative panels like his sardine fishermen, arcachon.the collection of his prints is in london, at the british museum and at the cabinet of prints, in brussels. 30/24 cm frame.
