Carrol Boyes – Vintage sculptural cutlery set of 18 pieces, all different – South Africa. An impressive set of 18 cutlery pieces by Carrol Boyes for six people, complete with its original individual velvet protective pouches. Much more than a classic cutlery set, this collection brings together true functional little sculptures. Each of the 18 pieces features a different design: each handle has its own silhouette, volumes, and personality. When gathered on a table, these utensils form a particularly expressive artistic collection. The sculptural tin handles are paired with functional stainless steel parts. Their irregular shapes, bold lines, and brutalist-inspired aesthetics give each piece a striking presence. With a total weight of approximately 1.680 kg, the set offers a remarkable sense of solidity and quality in hand. THE CREATOR South African artist, sculptor, and designer Carrol Boyes studied fine arts at the University of Pretoria, specialising in sculpture. After teaching, she founded her company in Cape Town in 1989 and developed her approach to "Functional Art": transforming everyday objects into usable sculptural works. Cutlery plays an important role in her early creations. This set fully illustrates her approach, with bold and tactile shapes that make each everyday object a piece of character. A choice acquisition for enthusiasts of South African design, artist tableware, and sculptural creations. These utensils will naturally find their place on a contemporary, eclectic, or brutalist-inspired table. COMPOSITION 18 pieces for six people: • 6 table knives. • 6 table forks. • 6 soup spoons. Dessert spoons are not included. The 18 models are different. The Carrol Boyes signature appears on almost all.
