Rare beautiful and authentic old english earthenware pitcher "staffordshire shorter & son ltd"., friendly in purple dress, red pants and black tricorn. Depicting a seated figure holding a mug of beer with both hands (see photos) This anthropomorphic pitcher commonly called in france pot jacquot or toby jug in uk. In very good condition, without shine or crack, natural cracks of time with enamel (see photos), hand painted, signed on the underside. Size: Height: about 31 cm. Bottom of the pitcher: about 15 cm. Materials and techniques: pottery / earthenware. Place of origin: england. Period: late nineteenth century. Weight 1.8 kg. Condition: excellent general condition, without shine or crack, perfectly clean. Wear in accordance with age and use.
