Saucière, asparagus and artichokes dish in slip, signed De Bruyn, Manufacture de Fives-Lille

With this dish and this saucière, put the vegetable garden in the spotlight on your table, during or even outside the asparagus and artichokes season! You have not finished surprising your guests, young and old, by combining the fresh vegetable products of your market with the vegetable sculptures of the slips! Their soft palette tinged with mauve, beige and pale blue will allow you to easily match your everyday plates to these two exceptional pieces. The saucière and the dish with vegetable decoration in relief - or slip - come from the fives lille earthenware factory, a house founded and managed from 1864 by the de bruyn family. Their first slips date from 1887, a period of great success: the earthenware factory obtained the silver medal at the universal exhibition in paris in 1889. The origin of these slips is authenticated by the signature of de bruyn: a marine anchor intertwined with a d and a b engraved on the back of the saucière, completed by a serial number: here 1305 (see photo). We also find this number 1305 on the back of the asparagus and artichokes dish (see photo). These pieces are listed in maryse botero's book "artichauts et asperges en barbotine", published by éditions massin, with their number 1305 and the signature of the manufacture. The condition of these two pieces is very good: the slips bear the signs of their age - glaze slightly cracked inside- (see photo) but without breakage or detachment of material. These are rare pieces, especially since they are in good condition and they constitute a set (dish and saucière), which is why I want to sell the lot. However, it is still possible to negotiate. Dimensions of the dish: l=36cm, w=26cm, h=6cm. Dimensions of the sauce pot: l=20 cm, l=10cm, h=10 cm.
