Charming Vintage Portuguese Majolica Shell and Fern Leaf Ceramic Dish. A lovely vintage majolica-style earthenware ceramic dish, crafted in Portugal. This highly decorative piece features a crisp white ribbed body in the shape of a sea clam or oyster shell, centered with an embossed three-dimensional green fern leaf highlighted by a delicate ochre glaze trim along its edges. Embodying the iconic naturalistic and botanical traditions of famous Portuguese potteries (such as Bordallo Pinheiro or Secla), this platter brings an elegant "cabinet of curiosities" or coastal-chic vibe to any interior. It is perfect as a tabletop centerpiece, a chic vide-poche (trinket tray), or as part of a wall plate display. In good vintage condition, retaining a bright and glossy glazed finish. It shows a fine, beautiful authentic network of time-earned crazing throughout the glaze, which is entirely natural for early majolica and enhances its antique character.
