Desk by ARP: ARP (Atelier de Recherche Plastique) was founded in 1954 by Joseph-André Motte, Michel Mortier and Pierre Guariche with the aim of offering mass-produced designer furniture that was innovative both technically and aesthetically. This short-lived partnership between the three designers ended in 1957. This model consists of a black lacquered tubular metal structure, double or triple upright shaft, resting on metal pellets, an ingenious system of orthogonal crossings or X-shaped folding forming the structure, a side box with three sliding drawers, the top of which forms a shelf, the front of the drawers lightened by a double groove, all in ash veneer. Edition: Les Huchers-Minvielle, circa 1955. Bibliography: Patrick Favardin, Les décourateurs des Années 50, Editions Norma, 2002.
