French Modernist Glass and Brass Display Tables with 'P. Andrieux', 1930's

This rare and exceptionally sleek set of French display tables dates from the late 1930s or 1940s, representing the vanguard of early French Modernism. Showcasing the transition from late Art Deco geometry to functional, minimalist design, this modular set was custom-utilized or created for a luxury environment to showcase curated items. Modular Design & Provenance The set consists of two independent tables of different sizes that can be stacked to create a tiered etagere structure (as pictured), or separated to be used as individual presentation stands or accent tables. Crafted from remarkably thick plates of clear tempered glass with sleek polished edges, they feature minimalist, black-lacquered cylindrical legs. Each piece is finished with solid brass screw caps and corner accents. A unique historical detail is the original vintage paper retail label preserved on one of the brass knobs: "P. ANDRIEUX – Bijouterie Fantaisie – Beauvais". This marker links the tables directly to a high-end boutique or haute-bijouterie in the historic French town of Beauvais. Originally serving as an upscale store display to present luxury accessories and fine jewelry, the label adds definitive authenticity and rare commercial provenance to the set. Condition Report The tables remain in good vintage condition and present beautifully, showing light, honest signs of age and wear. For full transparency, there is one very minor superficial flea bite/nibble on the glass edge and a small area of wear/scuffing to the finish on one of the legs (clearly documented in the detailed photographs). These minor imperfections are entirely consistent with its significant age and do not detract from the structural integrity or overall historical aesthetic of the piece. The brass elements have developed a beautiful, deep authentic patina.
