Teak desk with six drawers arranged in two side units and tapered beech legs. Scandinavian production, 1960s. The desk is built around a long rectangular teak top and two suspended drawer units symmetrically positioned at either end, leaving the central area completely open. Each unit comprises three stacked drawers: the upper drawer is fitted with a lock, while the two below feature slightly curved, projecting wooden handles that add depth and rhythm to the sequence of drawer fronts. The drawers are constructed with traditional dovetail joints. The visually slender top extends slightly beyond the two side units, emphasizing the horizontal development of the piece. Four long legs in stained solid beech taper towards the floor and terminate in rounded ends, lightening the lower section. The compact geometry of the drawer units, the linear top and the tapered profile of the legs articulate the structure, while the chromatic continuity between the teak veneer of the top and drawer fronts and the stained beech supports gives the piece a visually cohesive appearance. Dating from around 1960, the desk belongs to the Scandinavian production of the period. Good condition. It may show some signs of age and use. Please pay close attention to the photographs. AG121.
