White Mullein. Title: Cyanotype White Mullein – Botanical Plate A5 "The Simple Herbs" Description: Tall flowering spike, leaves covered with a velvety down: the white mullein, or candle of Our Lady, stands here in white against the deep blue of the cyanotype. A plant of embankments and paths, its flowers are traditionally infused in winter. An elegant and vertical piece, inspired by ancient herbalist plates. Original cyanotype on 300 g/m² paper. A5 format: 14.8 × 21 cm. Ready to frame (frame not included) Care instructions: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and humidity. An acid-free mat is recommended for framing. The process: Cyanotype is an ancient photographic process, invented in 1842 by John Herschel and popularized by Anna Atkins in her herbariums. The paper is sensitized by hand, exposed to sunlight or UV light, then rinsed with water: Prussian blue appears and the plant stands out in white. Each sheet is handmade, so slight variations in shade and edges make each piece unique.
