Costes armchair by Philippe Starck. Its back is made of mahogany-veneered curved plywood, seat in black leather and tripod base in tubular steel. It is in very good vintage condition: the backrest is perfect, the seat has slight wear to the piping (see photo). Perfect structure. There is no marking Dimensions: 80 x 47 x 57 cm Seat height: 46 cm The model entered the collections of the Center Pompidou. Here is his story: in 1981, Philippe Starck was contacted by Café Costes in Paris to redesign his furniture. Don Denny is the name of the original model he created in 1983. It was originally entirely black. In 1985, in collaboration with the Driade publishing house, Philippe Starck released this model in several finishes, including this one: mahogany back and black leather.
