Description
Pair of rocking coffee makers with louis gabet system, with vase on glass pedestal and pretty white porcelain tank, white porcelain base and chiseled gold bronze frame, chimera-headed faucet and swan. 19th century. In 1844, louis gabet invented the swing siphon. It separates the two containers that are placed next to each other (ceramic for water, glass for coffee); water is transferred into a tube from one to the other by siphon effect. When the water is transferred to the second container, its weight increases and triggers a balance that automatically extinguishes the burner at the right time. Price for the pair 900.
