Mid-Century Modern Pottery Jug or Vase by Gunnar Nylund for for Rörstrand

An extraordinary, rare and rather large hand-made vintage ceramic vase known as "asr", design by the very talented gunnar nylund for rörstrand. What makes this vase so very special is that even though, it has a very simple design, it has the most elegant and sophisticated appearance. This is very much due to the craftsmanship needed to be able to produce such quality and iconic ceramic objects. This together with the incredible glazing which is in a harpsichord glaze technique with a beautiful warm brown color with and hints of amber or orange color. All in all, a stunning and elegant vase, a piece of art, which has a modern feel to it. It can also function as a jug. This is a rare studio-production, and it is signed and marked. It is 30cm (11.81") high, and around 10cm (3.93") in diameter and in an excellent condition.
