Saint-Hubert Buffet in Walnut Wood, Late 19th Century

This piece of furniture is called Saint-Hubert, named after the young noble Hubert, who was passionate about hunting. A legend tells that a crucifix appeared to him on Good Friday between the antlers of a stag during a hunting trip. Saint-Hubert thus gave his name to a very specific sideboard intended for hunters.
