6 hand-painted ceramics – Desuir - Sicily

A ceramic set from Sicily consisting of two large bowls and four matching small bowls. Each piece is hand-decorated with a stylised pomegranate motif in shades of cobalt blue, orange, and green on an ivory background. The brushstroke variations from one piece to another reflect artisanal craftsmanship and give the set its unique character. Set stamped CER. DESUIR – Made in Italy: Ceramiche Desuir, a workshop located in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicily. This town is one of the major historical centres of Italian ceramics. In good vintage condition, with some chips in the glaze present on certain edges, mainly on the bowls, indicating previous use; the two large bowls have a hairline crack at the bottom (see photos). Large bowls: diameter 23 cm – height 7 cm; small bowls: diameter 17 cm – height 5 cm. The colours of Sicily bring warmth and light to the table.
