Painting signed Charles Betout

We propose this very colorful impressionist painting signed c. Betout, for charles betout, (1869-1945) costume designer at the comédie française, then at the paris opera from 1919 to 1939. He worked in the workshops of bianchini-ferrier and then became a painter, engraver and decorator. This work was completely cleaned and varnished by a professional, it was then revarnished with an anti-uv satin varnish (sennelier). The canvas was mounted on a second canvas of 300 grams that was previously tinted with walnut husk. This canvas is very well stretched for a perfect result and guaranteed 1 century. There is a very beautiful perspective on the water, diagonally from left to right from the 1st boat directed towards the second boat giving a very successful depth to the horizon. We must also mention the magnificent reflections of the sky and the 2 boats in the sea. This impressionist work in tribute to the painter pierre béronneau is resplendent with beautiful lighting. Note also a very nice old frame from the same period as the painting, with a black border inlaid in ebony (see photo n ° 7) as well as a foliage also in ebony. This thin frame was completely restored and then resized. It is very robust (glued, nailed and stapled), guaranteed long lasting. Dimensions with frame: 50 cm X 35 cm.
