Ergonomic chair designed by Herman Sperlich for the Ironrite Ironer Company in the United States, in the 1930s/1940s. Initially intended for people using Ironrite ironing machines, it was designed to promote a comfortable posture while working. Its structure features white enameled steel with a base of continuous curves, a contoured seat, and a reclining backrest that adapts to the user's position. Its functional design and clean lines reflect early research on ergonomics in American industrial furniture. A similar piece is part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA). Edition: Ironrite Ironer Company, United States, 1930s/1940s.
