This charming coat rack to attach to the wall has probably already had several lives and I hope it will find a new one.
It is a turned wooden coat rack, very fashionable until the 40s and 50s, called bamboo coat rack because it tried to imitate the appearance of bamboo.
They were then left of natural color, light honey.
This one has already been revisited, because it was painted in light indigo blue (the actual color is not well rendered in the photos, it is more of a very light indigo than a layette blue).
When I found it, it was missing a hook.
So I replaced it (thanks to my favorite wood turner!) and left it natural for several reasons: because it is one more testimony of his many lives, and on the other hand, it will do less work if its next owner wants to strip it entirely to regain the original appearance.
Apart from this addition, it is in its juice, just cleaned, with various stains and marks and gaps on the paint.
A small chip on the base and on the edge of a hook, as well as a small crack on a hook (all three are on top and therefore not very visible once fixed to the wall).
Apart from that, it is still very strong, and is equipped with two metal fasteners for its fixing to the wall.
It is 70.5 cm long, 5.3 cm wide, the advance from the fixing wall is 13.5 cm.
It weighs just under 700 g.
