Vintage Romeo Rega coffee table, smoked glass, brass and chrome metal, Hollywood Regency design 1970s

Elegant coffee or living room table, Italian design in Hollywood Regency style, dating from the 1970s. Attributed to the Italian designer Roméo Réga. Rare and quite exceptional model, particularly aesthetic. Double belt in gilded brass profile of rectangular section going around the legs, these being made up of five spacer uprights (2 in chrome steel and 3 in gilded brass), assembled by allen screws. Smoked glass shelf in perfect condition. Everything being original, in very good condition, note a few oxidized places (see red arrows on photos). Biography: Romeo Rega was born in 1904, an Italian designer of the 1970s associated with a combination of modernism and glamor in their furniture designs. Rega embodies this style, its brand is said to have been launched on December 31, 1969, producing lighting, chairs, tables and display cases identified by its double "r" logo, ceasing production in 1981. Although it is known little about his personal or professional life, the legacy of Rega is not lost, with the arrival of his creations at vintage and collector's auctions. Rega furniture is characterized by geometric shapes and reduced shapes. He works mainly with chrome or gold-plated metal, brass or brass-plated, and plexiglass, which adds the allure and elegance that Rega is famous for to his modernist pieces with clean lines.
