Hand Embroidered Tablecloth

This old tablecloth was dyed using the Japanese shibori technique. This technique, which appeared in the 13th century, consists of carrying out a series of twists and folds on textiles, held by ties, which are then immersed in bluish dye baths. The fabrics are thus adorned with unique geometric patterns! We have hand embroidered the large single flowers of the candy pink rose bush® 'evefrais'.
