Hand embroidered tablecloth

This antique tablecloth was dyed using the Japanese shibori technique. This technique, which appeared in the 13th century, consists of making a series of twists and folds on textiles, held together by ties, which are then dipped in baths of blue dye. The fabrics are thus adorned with unique geometric patterns! We have hand-embroidered the large single flowers of the candy pink® 'evefrais' rosebush.
