Very decorative urn vase in semi-transparent satin glass of art nouveau period, by georges de feure, symbolist master and present at the museum of decorative arts and the musée d'orsay in paris. The set in 2 scenes would be freely inspired by the fragment of the column of the dancers of delphi, or column of the acanthus, discovered in 1894 representing the thries: 3 sisters, nannies of the gods of olympus, endowed with the gift of divination and who invented the art of prophecy with small pebbles thrown into an urn. Created for the "fauchon" store in paris around 1910, it was used as a prestigious packaging for its dragees and pralines. Made of pressed molded polychrome glass, predominantly purple. Model made in the workshops of the daum brothers. Signature molded in the decoration above the stylized acanthus leaves: de feure (1st version of the vase). By its theme and the curves of the decor, this object testifies to a pivotal era in the history of the arts, at the crossroads of symbolism and art nouveau and represents a fine example of the concept of a total work of art dear to de feure and his friends.
