For sale: a unique pair of antique nightstands (bedside cabinets) with subtle Chippendale/Neo-Rococo decorations and a documented noble provenance. Provenance and ownership mark: A legible, original ownership mark has been preserved on a structural element: “Elisabeth zu Stolberg / 2430 Hasselburg.” The furniture was part of the furnishings of the historic Gut Hasselburg palace and manor complex in Germany, which belonged to Countess Elisabeth zu Stolberg-Stolberg (1919–2007). The presence of the mark is direct proof of the furniture’s authenticity and unique history. Functional layout: Each cabinet features a drawer at the top, an open shelf (compartment), and a two-door cabinet in the lower section. Luxurious marble interior: The lower space behind the doors is lined with smooth slabs of light-colored natural marble (formerly intended for a urinal). Carved details: Carved “ball-and-claw” feet combined with a delicately carved, profiled frieze. Hardware: Brass, patinated drawer pulls in the form of bulbous pendants with round escutcheons. Condition: Good / original (vintage condition). Visible natural patina, minor scuffs on the wood, and signs of use that attest to the piece’s age and history. Traces of former locks inside the doors. An ideal choice for vintage, eclectic, or manor house-style interiors, or for a collection of antiques with provenance. Dimensions: Width: 64 cm. Depth: 45 cm. Height: 74 cm.
