Figurative composition with an dreamlike character, characteristic of the artist's Argentine period, blending linear drawing, Viennese expressionism, and the refinement of the School of Paris. "Art Deco" style. Titled "Legato", signed and dated 1943. The term "Legato", borrowed from music, means something like connected, without interruption. This is quite relevant for this composition. Indeed, in this lithograph, the bodies and forms seem to extend into one another: the drapery, hair, arms, and silhouettes almost form a single fluid mass. The tree and landscape also contribute to this continuity. An interesting characteristic of Lydis is that she does not necessarily seek to depict a realistic scene.
