Roche-Bobois rattan desk

Desk designed by roger maugrion for roche-bobois, 1980s. Stained rattan, ash veneer, full canework and glass top. Large central drawer with two compartments. The top is protected by a large glass plate so you can write and work without damaging the canework. Partial presence of a label on the back of the piece of furniture “maugrion éditions / registered model / made in france” in the 1970s and 1980s, roche-bobois solicited the “rotinier” designer (in his own words) roger maugrion to design more than 200 pieces of furniture in natural materials, mainly rattan. These were made in the maugrion workshop near bayeux in which 27 workers worked. Maugrion was himself a former student of the national school of basketry and osiericulture.
