Serge Mouille wall sconce, model White Antony

Serge Mouille is without a doubt the lighting designer who made the most of his mark on the world of the 1950s. Great classics of the Art Deco movement, its original lighting is a huge success. For the past 10 years, his models have been reissued, to the delight of amateurs and collectors, by Serge Mouille editions, who reproduce the original pieces with the utmost respect for the quality and manufacturing methods so special that have made the designer famous. Created in 1962, this fixed arm applicator was originally designed as a wall bedside lamp to equip the rooms of the university city of Antony. It shows all the virtuosity of the designer. To the sensuality of the drawing is added the prowess and finesse of the execution that reveals here all its genius. But it is above all his mastery of anatomy that is evident here: the rectangular wall attachment serves as a support for a bent stem, the ending of which is overhanging by a reflector derived from the shape he called "mold". The golden glow of the brass emphasizes the articulation points of the structure, and the switch at the top of the lampshade. This sconce is painted in matte white, with semi-mat white for the interior.
