Very rare dining table by wim den boon and w.j. Kok for goed wonen netherlands 1950s. Constructed in solid oak wood in scissor shaped beams, with a large central beam in the middle. The formica plate rests within a solid wood oak frame. Sober dutch design but yet a very elegant and well constructed table. This design can only be traced back in the edition of the goed wonen catalog 1950. The model is here shown in a different k1 desk setup alteration. The desk is here shown as a w.j. Kok design, designed and produced by w.j. Kok for goed wonen. The scissor construction was redesigned/remade by wim den boon, while adding the horizontal beam, to make it more suitable for a dining table. It’s unclear whether this table is a one-off design by wim den boon or if it was produced in (small) numbers. An original picture of the table is added as provenance too. The table comes from a house with multiple wim den boon pieces. The model bears similarities with the ate van apeldoorn x-base dining table. The table is in good condition, with the formica top having been replaced in a later stage due to wear.
