Large silver-plated metal basket Roux-Marquiand – Superb rococo decoration –

Elegant and large silver-plated metal basket signed Roux-Marquiand, a Lyonnaise silversmith. A very beautiful antique piece with French charm, particularly decorative thanks to its generous shape, its two ornate handles, its small feet, and its magnificent central rococo-style decoration. The decoration features an elegant play of scrolls, foliage, shells, and floral motifs, typical of the Louis XV / Belle Époque aesthetic. A piece that can serve as a basket or centrepiece, or become a true decorative object on a console, chest of drawers, or coffee table, or repurposed as a decorative catch-all. Its format is particularly interesting: 42 cm from handle to handle, 24.2 cm wide, with a height of about 6.5 cm at the basket. Its weight of over 750 g also attests to a beautiful presence and quality craftsmanship. The piece is in very good general condition, with a lovely shine. Only a few slight wear marks on the silver plating at the central motif are noted, discreet and not easily visible from a distance, which do not detract from the overall elegance of the object. A few small signs of use are also visible, consistent with the age of the piece. No apparent deformation. A superb piece for chic, classic, elegant country, or contemporary mix & match decoration. It will immediately bring a touch of French silverware and refinement to your interior. A piece full of French charm, which fits well in both classic and contemporary interiors. A very beautiful piece of French silverware, both decorative and timeless, adding a touch of antique luxury, French charm, and patina to a decor. The photos accurately show the piece and its condition. Total length, including handles: 42 cm Maximum width: 24.2 cm Height of the basket: approximately 6.5 cm Weight: just over 750 g.
