Bust of Augustus

Bust of Augustus in plaster, Grand Tour style, featuring hair styled in the so-called "crab claw" or "tail of a dove" fashion on the forehead, with a straight nose and facial features deliberately idealised. The grey/ombre patina has been worked on the surface (in the style of "studio plaster" or "academy plaster") to give it the appearance of aged stone or excavated antique marble. Base: Presence of a cubic footstool (integrated or fixed under the neck), also patinated to match the head.
