Daybed MB01 designed by Cees Braakman in the early 1950s. This daybed was manufactured by the Dutch furniture company Pastoe. The frame is made of curved birch plywood and features the typical characteristic loop legs at the bottom. The backrest can be folded down/rotated, transforming the seating unit into a single bed. The original label from a leading furniture store in Ghent is still present at the bottom (see photo). The entire set is in very beautiful condition, with the frame fully professionally sanded and oiled. The original webbing was replaced with new jute straps. A new mattress was also provided, along with an extra pillow and two bolster cushions. The upholstery was also completely professionally renewed with a cotton-linen blend in a fresh pink color. At the edge where the backrest fits into the frame, there were a few small cracks in the wood that were repaired and are not noticeable.
